FAHC meeting | 1 AUG 2017 | 1:30pm – 3:30pm
We are pleased to invite Food, Agriculture and Hospitality Committee (FAHC) members to the next FAHC meeting on Tuesday the 1st August at the Australian Embassy Tokyo.
The committee has organised a meeting with Emily Flahive, First Secretary (Trade and Economic) with DFAT and Sachico Stone, Senior Research Officer – Agriculture with DAWR from 1:30 – 2:00pm to discuss the recently announced Japan EU EPA.
The meeting is an opportunity for committee members to highlight any concerns they have about how the EPA may affect their business in Japan due to lower duties, quotas or geographical indications to the Australian government. We have also asked Emily to explain the review mechanism under JAEPA as it seems it may be much more difficult to trigger this review than initially thought.
Following this from 2:00 to 3:30pm, the meeting will provide confirmed Gourmet Food and Wine Garden Party exhibitors (restaurant and suppliers) an overview of event logistics by the Embassy’s Event Manager Akiko Asad and ANZCCJ Executive Director, Cristina Merino. It is also an opportunity for members not exhibiting to provide input and suggestions on how to make this year’s event a success.
Members are welcome to either part of the meeting or both depending on their interest and time available.
Venue : Australian Embassy Tokyo, Banksia Room (map).
Time: 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Registration is required in advance for Embassy security purposes. Please register yourself and all staff who will be attending this meeting by COB Friday 28 July.
